"Alerts" are not notifications on your device, they are lists of apps that have recently changed price based on custom filters. I have two filters, one for apps that change price to free for iPhone and another for iPad.

The features of this app provide so much information to help you decide if the app that has "gone free" is worth your time. They tell you if it has in-app purchases. They show you the price history so you can decide if its a worthless app that goes up and down in price to make it seem like its always on sale, or an app that was introduced at a super high price to make people think its a bargain. My other favorite benefit is that AppZap users can like or dislike an app and also leave comments - they are like mini reviews.

Ive scored a bunch of free apps that are actually great and were only free for a day or two. Its really worth spending the time to learn this app once and set up your filters so you can check in daily for more great deals.
